About Ballpersons

Ballpersons play a vital role in professional tennis. Overall, the job they do goes a long way in ensuring the smooth running of a WTA tournament. Specifically, they are the on-court facilitator to the players, who are competing in matches seen around the world.

The Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2019 is recruiting ballpersons for this year’s event, which takes place at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium from 5-13 October.

Candidates should be enthusiastic, have good athletic ability, hand-eye coordination, and a sound knowledge of tennis. Playing the sport is also a desirable attribute. Availability on two of the weekdays between 7-11 October is a pre-requisite.

The HKTA will provide initial training and evaluate candidates based on their performances at practice tournaments held in Hong Kong during the months of July and August.

As a ballperson, you will have a unique and rewarding experience of serving some of the world’s best tennis players in the biggest tennis event in Hong Kong!
